Active Cavity Radiometer Irradiance Monitor

Composite Total Solar Irradiance Time Series

Principal features of compiling a composite TSI time series

Overlapping experiments provide contiguous results with traceability at their mutual level of precision

Key to constructing a 24 year-long composite is relating non-overlapping ACRIM1 and ACRIM2 results

Nimbus7/ERB and ERBS results overlap ACRIM1, ACRIM2 and can be used to relate their result

ACRIM composite TSI approach 1,2

Uses Nimbus7/ERB, ACRIM1,2 & 3  and VIRGO results published by their science teams

Uses Nimbus7/ERB comparisons to relate ACRIM1 and ACRIM2 results

Reports results on the ACRIM3 ‘native scale’

PMOD composite TSI approach 3

Uses modified Nimbus7/ERB, ACRIM1,2  and VIRGO results

Modifies Nimbus7/ERB results to conform to ERBS during ACRIM gap

Modifies Nimbus7/ERB & ACRIM to conform to solar proxy model during solar cycle 21 maximum

Relates VIRGO results across 1998 SOHO hiatus using ACRIM2 comparisons
